About the current situation in Palestine

Mufti Taki Usmani, may Allah preserve him

(summary of the speech before Juma namaz)

Every Muslim who is aware of the current situation in Palestine is very concerned about the situation there.

More than three thousand people died. Hospitals have been bombed. A large number of women and children have become victims of this barbarism.

The superpowers that proclaim themselves defenders of human rights are not only silent about these atrocities, but also openly and actively support Israel.

Several points should be noted:

Israeli propaganda has led even non-aligned countries to succumb to misunderstanding. Muslims themselves ask:

Why would Hamas want to attack Israel if it knows perfectly well that the Israeli military power surpasses it by hundreds of times? Hamas also knows that Israel enjoys the full support of America and Britain. How can they think of winning by firing a few missiles?

Therefore, some say that the actions of Hamas were suicidal.

There is no point in provoking such a strong military power when Hamas has neither the Air Force nor the modern weapons that Israel has. To this should be added the military support of America and Great Britain. Therefore, the attack launched by Hamas was suicidal.

The fact is that Israel is not an independent force. He was put on his feet in the very center of the Islamic world. His goal is not only Palestine, but also the creation of an invincible force against the Islamic world.

In 1948, Pakistan was formed. In 1948, the creation of Israel was also announced. Thousands of Muslims were killed and driven from their homes in Deir Yassin. At that time, Muhammad Gina declared that Israel was the illegitimate child of the West.

Then the West resorted to various tricks and tricks to force Muslim countries to accept Israel as a Jewish state. Some countries, such as Egypt and Jordan, were forced to accept this. Subsequently, attempts were made to normalize relations between Israel and the center of the Islamic world, Saudi Arabia. If Saudi Arabia agrees to this, it will be difficult for other Muslim countries not to follow suit. The idea is for all Muslim countries to recognize Israel as a State governed by the rule of law.

Thus, Hamas did not attack Israel suddenly. On the contrary, there is a long history of Israeli atrocities and aggression that everyone knows. Hamas has apparently come to the conclusion that if the entire Muslim world accepts Israel, then this ulcer will declare itself with all its might. And then not only Palestine, but also their goal — "Greater Israel" — will be realized. Therefore, they felt that if they inflicted a painful wound on Israel, then these emerging relations with Muslim countries would cease. And so it happened. Praise be to Allah, thanks to their attack, Muslim countries came to their senses, and those ties with Israel that should have been established stopped. It was their first success.

Hamas says they're going to die anyway, so why don't they die the honorable death of martyrs? It may not make sense to rationalists, but from the point of view of Islam, the Hamas attack on Israel was certainly correct and justified.

By the grace of Allah, his attack on Israel did indeed damage its supreme military might.

If Hamas remains steadfast and steadfast, and the Muslim countries fulfill their mandatory roles, then it is possible that by the grace of Allah this battle will become decisive.

The second point is that there is a misconception among some people that if Israel wants to create a state in a historical place — in the land of the prophets, most of whom were from Bani Israel, and these are the children of Bani Israel, then why should we prevent them from doing so?

This propaganda is being spread by Israel all over the world. They claim that they are the heirs of this land and have the right to live on it.

The rule of the Bani Israel in the land of Palestine lasted only ninety-nine years over a period of several centuries. The original inhabitants of Palestine were the Canaanites. They migrated from the Arabian Peninsula and settled in Palestine. Thus, from the very beginning, the land has been inhabited by Arabs for many centuries. With the arrival of Musa and Samuel, the land of Palestine was conquered, and the Bani Israel ruled it for ninety-nine years. During this time, they killed thousands of prophets. At the end of ninety-nine years, 1800 years have passed. During all this time, the Jews did not rule over Palestine for a single moment. And now, after 1800 years, a man comes and declares:

"My ancestors ruled this land for ninety years. Therefore, I have the right to expel those who live here and rule it."

If we accept this argument, what will be the state of the rest of the world? The Red Indians will say, "We have ruled America for centuries. Therefore, we now have the right to expel the current American citizens and establish the rule of the Red Indians." If we accept this principle, then all the current countries of the world will cease to exist. Therefore, no one accepts him. It was passed only in favor of the Jews, who were scattered throughout Europe. They decided that wherever Jews were, they should emigrate and settle in Palestine, even if it meant killing and exterminating those who inhabited it.

In 1948, under the leadership of Great Britain and America, a proposal was made to create this illegitimate child. Ben Gurion— the Prime Minister of Israel, announced the creation of Israel, and this proposal was accepted by America within two hours. This happened after the massacre of Palestinians in Deir Yassin and the expulsion of thousands of people. Therefore, it is completely wrong to say that they have a right to this land because they have not ruled it for 1800 years. They have no political grounds for such statements.

As for religious claims: They say that Dawud (peace be upon him) and Suleiman (peace be upon him) built places of worship here. We accept that. This is mentioned in the Quran itself. Suleiman or Dawood actually built Al-Masjid al-Aqsa. Two houses were built: One of them is the Kaaba in Mecca. First it was built by angels, and then Adam (peace be upon him). Over time, not a trace of it remained. It was restored by Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He was not its original builder.

Similarly, Suleiman was not the first builder of Al-Masjid al-Aqsa. Tradition says that, like the Kaaba, Al-Masjid al-Aqsa was first built by Adam (peace be upon him). Over time, it was also destroyed. Therefore, Suleiman and Dawood restored it. Thus, it was not built by the Baths of Israel. It was built by these two prophets, whom we also consider our prophets. Therefore, Jews have no right to claim it. Their Torah says that Suleiman (peace be upon him) became an apostate and began to worship idols. The Qur'an rejects these beliefs:

وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَانُ وَلَٰكِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ كَفَرُوا

"Suleiman was not an unbeliever. The Shaitans were unbelievers."

Surah "Al-Bakara", verse 102

On the one hand, they accuse Suleiman of apostasy, and on the other hand, they claim that they have rights to the building he built.

Therefore, they have neither a political right to Palestine, nor a religious one.

Thus, the Jews conspired with America and Britain to create an ulcer in the heart of the Muslim world in order to split it. Since then (1948), they have committed more and more atrocities against the indigenous inhabitants of Palestine.

Therefore, Hamas carried out preparatory work and carried out this attack. Accordingly, Israel, as expected, struck back. This is, of course, a very painful tragedy. But even worse is the silence of the Muslim world, which Hamas advocated for strengthening and consolidating. Of course, they made statements. We also give lectures. But there is no practical help that could help them.

Sharia dictates to us that if non-Muslims attack a region populated by Muslims, then jihad will become mandatory for all Muslims. It will be mandatory according to the principle: who is closer to this region, then [the obligation] is on those who are closer. In other words, jihad will first be mandatory for those who live in this region. If there are not enough of them, then for those who live next to them. If there are not enough of them, then for those who live next to them, and so on. Based on this, jihad is obligatory for the countries located next to Palestine.

At the same time, jihad is obligatory, depending on the possibilities. Everyone joins the jihad according to their capabilities. Therefore, all Muslim countries are obliged to help them physically and financially. To do this, they must resort to wisdom and prudence so that it will benefit them and not harm them. Muslim countries should come together to decide what is best to do.

By the grace of Allah, our Pakistan has military power that very few countries have. Our military is obliged to help them, but with such wisdom that it would be beneficial to them. This does not mean that Pakistan should openly fire rockets and shells at Israel. On the contrary, practical wisdom is needed. Helping the Palestinians is the responsibility of every Muslim country, including Pakistan. As for our army, I can say with confidence that they are Muslims and they have certain Islamic feelings. Therefore, I would say that it is unjustified to think that they did not do anything or that they did not resort to any practical wisdom. I hope they have done the preparatory work. Otherwise, if Israel succeeds in carrying out its plans, the problem will not be limited to Palestine. Rather, it will cover the entire region. If you don't smash this snake's head now, it will start biting other countries. All Muslim countries will have to resort to collective practical wisdom to put an end to this disaster.

Ordinary Muslims do not have the strength to go there and fight. However, they must help the people of Palestine in any way they can. Monetary assistance, even if small, should be provided to the residents of Gaza. Duas are also extremely important. Imagine if we were bombed, if our women and children were killed, would we sit idly by? Two things, of course, are in our power: to provide them with financial assistance and to turn to Allah Almighty with dua. A person is obliged to do everything in his power and turn to Allah Almighty. May Allah reveal the essence of the following verse in this case:

كَمْ مِنْ فِئَةٍ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَةً كَثِيرَةً بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ

"How many times has a small army defeated a huge army by the will of Allah!" Because Allah is with the patient."

Surah "Al-Bakara", verse 249

May Allah Almighty inspire us. All praise is only to Allah Almighty. Peace and blessings to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
